RETAILER OF THE YEAR

Sent an email to Customer Service telling them of a pair of their boots that were now coming apart at the heel. Their response was that that particular style was discontinued by them 8 years ago. They then replaced the  boots with the style of my choice that listed for $149.95. Can you believe these people and their replacing a pair of boots that were 8 or 9 years old? I never expected anything but  condolences for the old boots, but was surprised when the new boots arrived today by UPS. I will never buy another brand of shoe or boot.

THANK YOU, CLARKS!

My tax dollars at work

This came across one of my news feeds. It's about the dumbest waste of money I've seen.

http://www.dhs.gov/video/options-consideration-active-shooter-training-video

It describes what you should do in the event that an 'active shooter' enters your workplace. Options include:

  • Running away
  • Hiding
  • Using scissors to defend yourself

Seriously - what was spent on this? I'm sure a lot. And here's the thing.

My dog has a brain the size of a walnut. Fire cracker (i.e. loud bang) goes off and she runs and hides. It's primal. It's built in.

How about covering this in the video... "Draw your concealed carry and blow the ass-clown away" - yeah... I like that option better.
