After 5 previous delays/scrubs, two of which I drove out and back for, the space shuttle Endeavor lifted off at 6:03pm today (in honor of the Meems' birthday!). I cannot even describe how THRILLING it was to see it from the Press Mound, just 3 miles from the launch pad. The most amazing thing was the noise, how unbelievably LOUD it was...you just felt it in your chest and it made me want to cry from the awesomeness of it. I had the video going but was wasn't watching it thru that, as I wanted to keep my eyes directly on the shuttle itself. And once the tremendous noise was over, it was unbelievably quiet. And I immediately wanted to yell out "DO IT AGAIN! DO IT AGAIN!!!!"
And a special treat was that Brendan just happened to get this one day off from his 2 week shoot, so he got to be out there with me and Brilly to see it. It made me so happy that all 3 of us could experience it together as we had originally planned.
Godspeed, Endeavour!!!!

Kind of far away, weren't you? What was with that hook of smoke in the end. Krista Maculla didn't make this trip too, did she? And, what was with the horses clopping by while this was going up...that was all I heard until the very end. Cool for you. Thanks for sharing
