Out with the Old....In with the New

Well, I gave it a shot. I drove the mini-van for as long as I possibly could. I just never felt comfortable driving it (mentally, not physically). Although I liked the functionality, I just could not continue down this path. It is not who I am. So to that end, I bid adieu to my 2007 Honda. Hopefully it will find a nice home with people who will appreciate it more than me.

So you ask....."What did you get instead?" The answer is quite simple. I loved my 1998 Tahoe (except for the maintenance and repairs). So I executed appropriately. I feel whole again. And no Kirsten....I am not in midlife crisis. I would have gotten a Camaro instead. Of course you can see that Sadie is quite happy (nothing to do with the car, she is just always like that.)
That's all the time I have.
Thanks...You've been great!

  1. So, then be whole...not a hole, and complete your explanation. Why did you have to get rid of a 2007 vehicle already? What make and model and year is this new brown thing? I would assume it is a Tahoe, but of course my math teacher taught me never to ass-u-me anything. Finish your thought...and the article...pro's, con's, bells and whistles??? Pray, tell!

  2. Oooooo it's shiny and prettttty! Very sharp. Don't worry, I don't consider switching from a mini-van to an SUV a "midlife crisis." :-)

  3. I'm having my 'late-life' crisis, which is characterized by not wanting to give up my 'busted-up' 1998 Nissan Altima. I've previously committed to upgrading by a decade - probably 2008 / 2009 Infiniti - in Spring of 2011) - but as that time grows nearer, I start growing fonder of 'Nigel' as the girls call it.

Yeah, it's got near 170,000 miles on it, grease stains on the rear seat from stuffing my bike into the car, a busted out lower running light, creased rocker panel, broken side view mirror casing, scratches on the rear quarter panel, and a squeaky AC belt. But I leave that puppy at the airport for a week and it starts right up on my return.

Of course another winter of driving that 'hockey puck' across the frozen tundra and I can strike while the iron is hot in the Spring. Or, I could buy a new mountain bike..... which costs about the same these days :-) After all - I *do* live in Colorado, and having a bike that is worth more than your car is considered acceptable here.

  4. Or - I might just sit on everything. After all - next year I'll have two kids in college and another a year away from college. Yikes.....

  5. Thats a very nice....don't know why you had a mini van anyways, gas mileage I suppose. By the way, did Kevin mention your truck or just talk about himself, I stopped reading half way through the second paragraph of blah, blah, blah....
