CHRISTMAS SHOPPING
A monkey wearing a miniature shearling coat and diapers spotted by shoppers in the parking lot of a Toronto Ikea store.
The owners, who were shopping in the store at the time, have come forward to claim the monkey. The animal was in a car in the parking lot and it somehow let itself out of its crate.
"It's a smart monkey," the owner said.
(No, S***, Sherlock.)

India - Some Pictures and Videos
In India this week. Then flying to China on Sunday night.
Just thought I'd post some pictures.
Just thought I'd post some pictures.
Our new office (we're on the 10th floor) Moving in later this year |
Some views from the terrace (roof) of our new office |
Potluck lunch today :-)
And of course some videos from the car driving around. Actually - the videos don't do it proper justice.. (yes Mom, wearing my seat belt) - and btw on that note....
Went running yesterday. Ok, So running in China is actually just 'training' for running in India. I wouldn't advise going from running in the US right to running in India.
Running in the US around city streets, say in New York, would be like level I of a video game.
Running in China is like maybe, Level 5
Running in India around the city streets is like Level 10 - you know where you battle the volcano lava monster with only a battle axe while angry monkeys hurl fireballs down at you? Yeah... it's a lot like that. First off, they drive on the 'British' side of the road - which throws off your trajectory calculations. Plus, the particular side of the road they are supposed to drive on is more a 'guideline' than an actual 'rule'. Second, there are no real sidewalks so you are up and down in various lanes of traffic. Third, in China they certainly come close to each other (cars, carts, mopeds, motorcycles, etc..) - but they do slow down a bit as they negotiate a pass. In India, they keep at the same pace - or speed up.
And oh yeah - there are stray dogs like in China, but also cows, roosters and monkeys. They don't hurl things at you, but the first time one squawked at me and I looked up on the fence to see him looking at me it freaked the living crap out of me. All this in the middle of the city. It would be like being on the streets of downtown Detroit and seeing this. Weird.
I'm glad I did it for the experience - but will stick to the treadmill for the rest of my trip. Nobody ever got whacked by a car on the treadmill.... or been assaulted by a monkey.

Luke's First Concert
Fresh Beat Band on Sunday night. It was actually a really well put on event for kids. Very well rehearsed and fun.

Weekend Project
I've been meaning to build an old style, wooden coffin as part of our Halloween decorations for several years now. Season just always ran out before I could find some time to do it.
Well, this weekend - I finally built it and you can see the finished product below.
It's about 5' tall and it will break down flat for storage. We've got a skeleton with some chains and a strobe light that lights it up from inside. The top hinges up with some old rustic hinges (right now just held open by a wooden stake :-)
Took a few hours to build it, but it's a good way to spend my downtime. And I love Halloween.
Will try to post a picture of the whole front yard-scape when it's light out.
