Back from 5 days in Ireland...not enough time to really see a whole lot of it, but saw a nice bit. We were at a golf course just outside of Dublin, and I got to look out at this beautiful courtyard and listen to the fountain trickling at night when I was falling asleep...it was SO quiet there. There are my feet getting comfy in front of my little electric fireplace in my 1-bedroom "apartment"...and the 9 channels of t.v. - 4 of which always seemed to be soccer games. But when I took this picture I had been thrilled to find "Planes, Trains, & Automobiles" on one of the movie stations!
It was a quick 5 minute walk from my apartment to the clubhouse where we ate and the production office was set up. Along the way I got to walk over this little pedestrian bridge that was soooo adorable and lit up at night. There was also this little bench I would sit at and just enjoy the water and the little blue rowboat...can't explain it, but it was just so lovely and peaceful and serene sitting there.
The day I had to do some shooting we drove a little ways through the countryside to a place called Belvedere House...on the grounds was this "crumbly"-looking wall called the Jealous Wall...it wasn't in ruins, it had actually been built that way by some guy who didn't want to look at his brother's big house across the way. This was years and years ago, but still...I think it's funny that they built the wall to look already-ancient.
It rained the ENTIRE day, and this picture someone took of me and the photographer and his assistant at the end of the day cracks me up...you can't tell from my face how miserable a day it had been, but you can sure tell from the photographer (the guy in the middle). It was lovely to get back to the warm, dry clubhouse and order some coffee with Bailey's in it (okay, so maybe I had a couple).
Hope to go back someday as a tourist and really get to take in all the sights!
Just a test comment...pay it no heed.
