DEPORTED!!!!!

I have great joy today, as I finally had my port removed yesterday after 2 years and 4 months! Had to have it done in the hospital, and I HATE being "put under" but I got to see my surgeon, Dr. Kamy Kemp, again after all this time, and it was a quick surgery and quick "waking up" period. Went in around 11am and was home and comfy on the couch by 4pm, stuffing my face with Taco Bell since I hadn't been allowed to eat since before midnite the nite before.

Just a teensy bit sore today but no stitches at all...they use a kind of "glue" now that just dissolves away in the shower. Technology is cool. As is being cancer-free.

  1. That is awesome, Kirs. I'm all for the going under to avoid pain, but it is a kick in the head when you wake up and you've lost a day. I think Daddo hates that the most. I had a TEE done with just numbing the throat, and also done with being put out. I think being out was better for everyone; I'm certain they got a steadier picture. But CHEERS to you. May God be with you so you never need to have another put in for 100 years. LOve: Fred
