Happy Veteran's Day
Let's all quaff a few root beers for Bill Mauldin and the other veteran's who served our country so well. And the Mariner's Church bell tolls 29 times for the poor souls who went down with the Edmund Fitzgerald 34 years ago today. "The wind in the wires made a tattle-tale sound..."

That is just a most perfect post, Daddo. To all the men and women who go out there and fight to let us be free. And to those poor lost souls of the Edmund Fitzerald...."Superior they say never gives up her dead when the gales of November come early!"
ReplyDeleteand whether the wars or the wrecks, one line holds true, "...all that remains is the faces and the names of the wives and the sons and the daughters." A morbid bit of remembrance isn't it? I prefer to think that what's come out of it all is liberty, freedom, wisdom, and an improved navigational system.
